Volunteers needed for summer lemonade
Lemonade and cookies after church is a summer tradition at St. Andrew's! Summer is on the way, and I am looking for volunteers to make and serve lemonade, and snacks/cookies, following our 10:30 service. Cookies and lemonade are provided. Volunteers make two pitchers of lemonade and a pitcher of water. These items are taken to the front of the church in our blue cooler from the kitchen. There will be a small table and plastic tablecloth in the front of the church that will need to be set up outside the River Road entrance. It’s fun, easy, and a great way to meet new members, visit with old friends, and have your thirst quenched all at the same time. Please consider helping me to continue our summer lemonade tradition! Contact me for more information or questions. - Nora Ann Lambiotte, 757-291-2299

Sunday Forum: Abraham - A Journey to the Heart of Three Faiths
April 12, May 3, 10, 17 at 9:15 AM
In a time when the world is asking “Can the religions get along?” One man - Abraham - stands out as the shared ancestor of Jews, Muslims, and Christians, holding the key to our deepest fears - and our possible reconciliation. Beginning on April 12, the adult forum will resume with a series based on Bruce Feiler's Abraham: A Journey to the Heart of Three Faiths, the story of Feiler's personal quest to better understand our common patriarch who defines faith for half the world. Both immediate and timeless, Abraham is a powerful universal story, the first-ever interfaith portrait of the man God chose to be God's partner. Thoughtful and inspiring, it offers a rare vision of hope that will redefine what we think about our neighbors, our future, and ourselves.

Training for Lectors, Lay Eucharistic Ministers, and Lay Eucharistic Visitors
May 31, 9:00 AM
Lectors, Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEM), and Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEV) are vital to our Sunday worship and care for those who are unable to attend our Sunday services. Lectors read the lessons and lead the Prayers of the People. LEMs administer the chalice at communion. LEVs are those who take communion once a month from the Sunday morning service to those who are homebound or hospitalized. These ministries are in need of new participants. Please prayerfully consider if you are called to serve in one (or more!) of these ways. For more information please contact the church office. There is a required training session for lectors, LEMs, and LEVs taking place on Sunday, May 31, at 9:00 AM. If you are already serving in one of these ministries, or would like to join us, please plan to attend.

Parish Picnic & Recognition Sunday
June 7, 10:30 AM, picnic at 12 PM
On Sunday, June 7, at the 10:30 service, we will recognize all those who have been involved in our Christian Formation and worship ministries. Feel free to dress casually, because after the service we’ll have our annual Parish Picnic (indoors, so no worries about weather or bugs!) Chicken (fried and gluten-free options) will be provided. We hope that you will bring a side dish or salad to share. Simply drop off your dish before the 10:30 service; volunteers will be in the parish hall to receive it (let us know if it’s gluten-free so it can be placed on a separate table). We need some picnic volunteers to help set up the parish hall and prepare the drinks (on Saturday, June 6 at 10 AM), to receive food items on Sunday morning before the service, to help serve the chicken, and to clean up afterward. To volunteer, contact the church office by June 3. So that we know how much chicken to order, RSVP by Monday, June 1, to the church office.
