Join the Choir!

The adult choir accepts new members year-round but is particularly keen to recruit new singers at the start of the program year! We will resume our weekday rehearsals starting Wednesday, Sept 2, from 6:15 to 7:15 PM. Come enjoy the social revelry and intellectual challenge that is choir-singing! Thursday Morning Bible Study resumes Sept. 10

The Thursday Morning Bible Study will resume meeting on September 10 at 10 AM in the parish library. All are welcome and invited to join us each week as we discuss the lectionary readings for the coming Sunday. 

Thursday night Bible study resumes Sept. 10

We started the Thursday night Bible study with a book from the Old Testament (Esther), then we looked at the mission of the disciples up through Saul's antics in Acts, then, following Saul's conversion in Acts 9, spent time with Paul's letters to the churches in Thessalonica and Galatia.  Beginning on Thursday, September 10, at 7:00 PM in the church library, we will now move into the earliest Gospel revealing the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the Gospel of Mark. On Sept. 10 we will have an introduction to the Gospel of Mark and discuss Mark 1:1-13.

Prayer & Share

2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 3:30 PM

The Prayer & Share group meets for study and prayer in the parish library every other Wednesday at 3:30 PM. Newcomers, please contact the church office before attending your first session. 

Centering Prayer

Wednesdays at 5:00 PM and Thursdays at 7:30 AM

Centering prayer meets Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 5:30 PM and on Thursday mornings from 7:30 to 8:00 AM. All are welcome, whether you are experienced with centering prayer or a newcomer to the practice. Mets in the parish library.

The Racial & Social Justice Team will meet on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 11:45 AM in the parish library. Meghan McNamara of the newly-formed Immigrant Rights Organizing Network (IRON) will be our special guest. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join us!

Parish Retreat

September 25-27 at Chanco on the James in Surry

Everyone in our St. Andrew's community is invited to join in the magic of our annual parish retreat at Chanco on the James. The weekend will include intergenerational as well as age-appropriate programming, fellowship, devotion, recreation, and rest. We will conclude with Holy Eucharist on Sunday morning before returning home. Registration is completely online this year. Click here for everything you need to know, including payment. Acolyte Festival mandatory meeting 

Oct. 4, 12:00 PM

There will be a mandatory meeting on Sunday, Oct. 4, for everyone going to the Acolyte Festival. This is our last meeting before the big trip! Come pack up your acolyte gear, sign any outstanding paperwork, and get last minute info. Meet in the parish hall after the 10:30 service.
