Hurricane Relief
Donations to Episcopal Relief & Development are an important way you can help hurricane victims in Puerto Rico, Texas, Florida and beyond. Click here to donate online. You may also write a check to St. Andrew's Church with "Hurricane relief" on the memo line and we will send your donation to Episcopal Relief & Development. If you donate online, be sure to list St. Andrew's as your donor organization.

Grateful Generosity stewardship campaign
St. Andrew's Stewardship Team kicked off this year’s “Grateful Generosity” Pledge Campaign on Oct. 8. During this important stewardship season of “Grateful Generosity”, we encourage you to prayerfully consider your gratitude to God and reexamine the importance of St. Andrew’s within your own lives as you continue on your spiritual journey. Click here for more info.

Nominations for Vestry
Nominations for the Vestry are now being accepted. If you would like to nominate someone, after getting their permission, please submit the nomination using the form at the link below and turn it into the church office. Although nominations can be made at anytime prior to the Annual Meeting, it will be helpful to have them by November 20, in order to be included in the newsletter and on the electronic bulletin board. The election will take place on Sunday, December 3 after the 10:30 worship service. Click here for the nomination form.

Coffee and Conversation: An Invitation from Anne and John
Now that John and I are fully settled into our new condo, we would like to invite each of you to come to our new home for an evening of Coffee and Conversation. Our goal is to have an opportunity to get to know every member of St. Andrew’s and also to allow each of you to spend some time with other parishioners whom you might not yet know. Each gathering will intentionally include people from different age groups and different services, along with a vestry member. Lorna will come whenever she is available. The first Coffee and Conversation gathering will take place in early November, with nine more following, approximately once per week, prior to the start of Lent. We will pick up again in Easter season. How exactly is this going to work? I will call families personally to extend the invitations, and we will hold as many gatherings as necessary in order to ensure that everyone receives an invitation. So please be patient... You may not receive your phone call for several months, but you will hear from me. John and I are looking forward to spending this time with each of you and to welcoming you into our home.

Watch video of "Islam for Christians" lecture series
Beginning Sept. 21 and continuing each Thursday evening, 7 to 8 p.m., through Oct. 26, John Herbst, Ph.D., is presenting "Islam for Christians" lecture series. Each talk will be video recorded and available on our YouTube channel. Click here for more info.

Getting Ready for Our Community Halloween Outreach
St. Andrew's parishioners have been having a great time on Halloween Eve in Hilton Village. In addition to handing out candy, we have had children's books and small stuffed animals and toys (like those in Happy Meals) for the children to take with them. So, as you clean out your closets and bookshelves, please bring these items to the church. We also need lots of candy to make 1000 Trick or Treat bags. Please bring all of your donations as soon as possible, but no later than Wednesday, October 25. Volunteers are needed to help set up beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31. The children will begin to stop by around 5:00.  Feel free to wear a costume, but it's not required. We will have appropriate spooky music and fog! It really is a lot of fun and the children in their costumes are a sight to behold.

Save the Dates for PORT
We will partner with Sts. Constantine-Helen Greek Orthodox Church on Traverse Road December 13 and 14 for the PORT Homeless Shelter.  More details will be forthcoming.

Publicity Worksheet

If you are part of a leadership team planning an event, please use our Publicity Worksheet to help the Communications Team and church staff get you the most visibility possible. And please be sure to send us an Event Wrap Up report (page 2 of the form) so we can share your story. If you save the form on your computer, you can open it and fill it out on your computer and then email it back. If you prefer to print and fill it out by hand, that's fine too!
