Welcome to St. Andrew's

It is always a joy to welcome newcomers to St. Andrew's. We are glad to have you visit our website and become familiar with our opportunities for worship, study and service.

Our services are from The Book of Common Prayer; worship music is from The Hymnal 1982. We use The New Revised Standard Version of The Holy Bible for our Lectionary readings. During the course of the Christian Year, we use both Holy Eucharist Rite I and Holy Eucharist Rite II. To see the most current Sunday Bulletin click [here].

In the Episcopal Church all baptized Christians are welcome at the Lord's table to receive communion and that is true at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

We have tried to make this and other portions of our web site easy to use and hope you will find it helpful. When you visit us, introduce yourself to us. If your visit is at a Sunday service, we welcome you to visit with us at our Coffee Hour in the Parish Hall following the service.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is located at the corner of River Road and Main Street, in Historic Hilton Village, Newport News, Virginia. You may click [here] to see a map.

We are a congregation committed to serving Jesus Christ and experiencing the love of God by a deep, caring concern for one another and active ministries to the needs in our community, diocese and beyond.

Regular Sunday Services are celebrated at:

8:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist (Rite I), with homily and without music. Healing Stations are available on the first Sunday of each month.

10:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist (Rite II) featuring a full choir and Children's Chapel. On the last Sunday of each month Morning Prayer is celebrated, followed by Communion. Healing Stations are available on the first Sunday of each month.

Christian Education classes are offered for all ages from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. each Sunday.

This is followed by St. Andy's Café, a time of refreshments and fellowship.

Child care is available from 10:15 a.m. through the end of the 10:30 a.m. Service during the summer.

Wednesdays: Holy Eucharist (Rite II) with Healing is celebrated at 11:00 a.m.

Saturdays: An informal, music-filled (bring your instruments) worship service is celebrated on the first Saturday of each month in the Parish Hall at 5:30 p.m.
