The Carolyn Lackey Trust

The Carolyn Lackey Trust is administered by St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.  The fund provides yearly grants to assist the needy with an emphasis on programs for youth and the homeless, whether locally or overseas.  Ms. Lackey’s stated intentions specified the outreach ministry at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in downtown Newport News, LINK, PORT and the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula.  The Lackey steering group, which reviews grant applications, is guided by the principle that “Our money follows our people out into the world.”

Applications for 2019 grants must be received by November 30, 2018.

Award Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Applicant organization’s work focuses on the local community in some way, or if the organization’s focus is global and not local, its origins or roots connect to the local area in some tangible way.
  • Preference may be given to those organizations whose missions emphasize outreach to youth and the homeless.
