Resources for Families while we are at home during COVID-19

Live on Zoom, Children's Ministry Returns!

A live online interactive ministry for our young ones at St. Andrew's is now following the 10:30 am worship service. This will continue as long our ability to gather in person is curtailed.  (Links to the service are emailed weekly. You can join our email list here. You don't need a Zoom account to join in.)  If your family is already tuning in for the service, make time to stay for Children’s Chapel or you can join at 11:15 for the lesson.  Except for the use of technology, Children’s Chapel will be very much like what is offered on a normal Sunday: lessons, activities, interactive discussion, etc., and will last approximately fifteen minutes.  We hope you will join us this coming Sunday, not only in regular worship, but for the return of Children's Chapel, as we continue to nurture our children in the faith. For more information contact the Rev. Marc Vance, marcvance.saec@gmail.com.

Children's Chapel at the Waddill's home

We are excited to offer a ‘First and Third Sunday’ worship program for children aged 3 to 10 and their parents. The Christian Formation team will host outdoor Sunday worship in Dan and Karen Waddill’s backyard on the first and third Sundays of each month starting on Sunday, September 20.

  • Why are we doing this? Because we think children need to be together and, more importantly, they need to know that God loves them, that He has the whole world in His hands.
  • When will this take place? We will gather on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month from 9:30-10:15.
  • Where will we gather? We will meet in Dan & Karen’s backyard - 23 Hilton Terrace - as long as weather permits.
  • How do we sign up? Email Allie Wittkamp atlee2000@hotmail.com, or text or call Karen Waddill at 757-694-3238 by Saturday at noon.
  • Will we be safe? Fear Not is one of the Bible’s most emphatic and oft-repeated messages. We cannot guarantee your safety, but we can guarantee that you will experience the love of Christ and the fellowship of one another in a setting that is as safe and clean as we can provide. We will exercise precautions pertaining to cleanliness, social distancing and mask-wearing; There will be a bathroom with direct access to the outside; We will not be taking temperatures nor asking typical COVID related questions. Instead, we will ask that you evaluate yours and your child’s health on Sunday morning, and come if you feel well!
  • What is required of me? Please reply to this invitation with your questions. It will help us consider specific concerns you may have. Reply each week that we send an invitation to let us know if you are coming.
  • What will worship look like? Welcome children and parents; Craft time; Study God’s word; Act out the bible story and/or Godly play; Sing to the river!; Individually packaged snacks and drinks; Dismissal.
