Episcopal Youth Community

St. Andrew's Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) meets every Sunday, 5 to 7 p.m. in the Parish Hall, September through May, and is for youth in grades 6 through 12.

What's happening at EYC

EYC Time Change!
EYC begins again on September 23, but this year we will be meeting at a new time: Sundays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.  By adopting this new meeting time, more youth can come to the 10:30 a.m. service and then segue into the youth group meeting.  We look forward to a year filled with fun, fellowship, and formation!

Youth Confirmation
Preparation for Confirmation will be long term, from October 2018 to April 2019.  The class of confirmands will be youth aged 15 and older and it will meet monthly and include mentorship and retreats.  Our diocese has not yet set Confirmation dates for 2019, but the Rev. Lorna Williams will let the parish know when that information comes out.  On Sunday, September 16 there will be a meeting of the parents of confirmands led by Lorna at 9;15 a.m. in the Parish Library, during which information will be shared about the rite and preparation expectations.

What is EYC?

EYC is an energetic community for young people in grades 6 through 12 that gathers on Sunday evenings from September to May to worship, enjoy fellowship, have fun, and participate in Bible-based discussions on topics of everyday life, world issues, and their faith. They also discuss where God is stirring in everyday life, in social media, and the entertainment media. Each program offered nurtures our youth on their spiritual journeys. They also participate in weekend diocesan retreats in the fall and spring.
